The agri-food sector represents a crucial strategic pillar for European competitiveness, with an urgent need to strengthen innovation and promote both environmental and economic sustainability. In Italy, in particular, the agri-food supply chain is an essential component of GDP (about one-third), as well as a driving force behind the Made in Italy brand and tourism.
Technological innovations are revolutionizing the agri-food sector, driven by rapidly evolving nutritional and environmental needs. Companies, institutions, research centers, and stakeholders in the startup ecosystem require a broad, up-to-date, and actionable analytical framework on the ongoing technological transition.
To this end, the Luiss X.ITE Observatory, in collaboration with Federalimentare and Linfa Fund by Riello SGR, aims to analyze in detail, over a multi-year horizon, the concept of an innovative agri-food supply chain, thoroughly mapping each step of the chain and highlighting spaces and opportunities for innovation.
